# Three Tricks To Read Articles Behind A PayWall

A paywall is a commonly-used tool that allows publications and websites to restrict content to paying readers, subscribed readers or readers that have upgraded only.

Paywall articles are those articles that require a subscription before you can access or read them further. Most news articles and exclusive content require in-app purchases to access them.

So let's get to see these tricks.

### 🌟 Disable JavaScript in Your Browser

Want to get past a newspaper paywall? To disable JavaScript in Google Chrome, open the browser and click on the three vertical dots on the right top corner of the screen.

From the drop-down menu, go to Settings > Privacy > Content or Site settings. If you can’t find the site settings, type "JavaScript" in the settings search bar (at the top). Click on "site settings" from the search results.

Scroll to find JavaScript. Click on JavaScript, and click on "don’t allow sites to use JavaScript." You can also just add a specific website to the “not allowed to use JavaScript” list.

### 🌟 Send Article Links To Your Twitter DM (Direct Message)
Some sites like Medium detect the source origin(referer) and they are set to automatically allow social media referred posts.

After sending them to your inbox(DM), open them directly from there and boom you will have your article.

### 🌟 Try Incognito Mode
Incognito mode runs in a separate tab from your normal Chrome tabs. If you have an Incognito tab open and you open another one, your private browsing session.

* On your computer, open Chrome.
* At the top right, click More. New Incognito Window.
* A new window appears. In the top corner, check for the Incognito icon.

### 🌟 Summary
There are other methods you could try like getting a chrome extension, manually removing or deleting the Paywall, using a VPN service, resetting site cookies, etc. These methods vary on the type of paywall implemented.

You could also try different methods or a blend of these until you achieve what you want.
